Exeter Cultural Partnership

Engaging, empowering, energising culture in Exeter

We are looking for a new Chair for Exeter Cultural Partnership

Exeter Cultural Partnership (ECP) represents the city’s creative practitioners and cultural organisations. It is supported by Arts Council England, Business Improvement District, Exeter City Council, Exeter College and the University of Exeter. Formed in 2010, ECP represents Exeter’s cultural ecosystem; it has grown to more than 500 members, including the city’s National Portfolio Organisations.

There is growing support for culture to play a greater role in the city, which is a fast-growing economy attracting businesses and people wanting to live and work in a vibrant, thriving city. ECP's mission is to contribute to a creative and culturally rich quality of life for residents of and visitors to Exeter, and it is well placed to harness the city’s energy and appetite for an ambitious cultural vision. We are passionate about the power of great culture to transform communities and society, and committed to enabling brilliant public engagement through developing better insight, dialogue and strategic thinking.

Following an independent Governance Review, ECP is now seeking an exceptional candidate to join as Chair. The new Chair will work closely with the Steering Group in a new governance structure, a new Director and the rest of the Partnership to help set the strategic direction for the coming years, including ambitious projects that aim to articulate and advocate for the value of culture beyond the sector and improve Exeter’s cultural offer nationally and internationally.

We are looking for an individual with proven leadership ability and strategic vision to help us grow and develop our partnership, people and remit, to ensure the Partnership has agreed priorities, appropriate structures, processes and a productive culture. Candidates will bring energy, strong leadership and communication skills, as well as expertise in partnership and collaborative working.

For information and to obtain a Role Specification, please contact Belinda Dillon, IIB Culture Officer, University of Exeter (B.Dillon@exeter.ac.uk.)

Deadline: 8 December 2017
