Exeter Culture is delighted to announce that Dom Jinks has been appointed as its new Director. Stepping into the role in January 2019, Dom will lead the project team as it continues in its aims to support and enrich the city’s cultural ecology. This includes the delivery of Exeter’s first place-based cultural strategy.
Dom is an arts professional with over 20 years’ experience, a fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts and a member of The National Institute of Fundraisers. He has founded his own theatre company, held a range of roles at Arts Council England, chaired Exeter Cultural Partnership (Exeter Culture’s former name) and is currently Executive Director for Plymouth Culture. This role involves supporting and shaping the cultural plan for Plymouth and enabling the city to become an international cultural city. Recently, Dom has secured Plymouth Culture as a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England and supported Plymouth to receive a 39% increase in national core funding from Arts Council England, the largest uplift of any city in England. Plymouth has gone through significant cultural development during his time in Plymouth from redeveloped cultural buildings, international programmes, the growth of new organisations and the introduction of new large-scale festivals.
