Lecture - Representing World War I in African American Visual Culture

Lecture by Celste-Marie Bernier on respresenting War War I in African American Visual Culture. The lecture will focus on the work of the neglected African American artist Horace Pippin. The talk will re-examine Pippin's life, the context he was creating work with an emphasis upon his War War I paintings and illustrations.

 

Lecture will be followed by a drinks reception.
