Thank you to everyone who responded to the surveys about Creative Apprenticeships and the culture sector in Exeter. As mentioned in the last update on 1 March, Exeter Cultural Partnership is working with Exeter & Heart of Devon Employment & Skills Board (EHOD ESB), Exeter City Council and Exeter College to consider how best to support those culture sector organisations who may want to offer opportunities for apprentices, and potential apprentices seeking culture sector careers. We had a good response to the surveys, and these are going to be analysed by EHOD ESB and the findings shared in the coming weeks. We'll also be meeting with potential partners to consider practical next steps.
The review of Exeter's Guidelines for the Commissioning of Public Art is underway and involves - among others - colleagues from the Exeter Visual Arts Forum, Exeter College, the University of Exeter, Exeter Phoenix, Spacex, the City Council and East Devon District Council.
A new Visit Exeter brand is being developed by Exeter City Council. ECP is working with Visit Exeter and the City Council to clarify some practical issues; the new website will go live towards the end of April (exact date TBC)
In the last blog we mentioned a future culture season launch for 20 April. We’ve postponed that event to a later date. Exciting events are being planned, so watch this space.
The next date for your diaries is the Culture Hustings on Monday 10 April starting at 7pm at the Boat Shed on Exeter Quayside. The event will have BSL interpreters. Organised by Bike Shed Theatre, supported by ECP.
