Exeter Cultural Partnership

Engaging, empowering, energising culture in Exeter

Exeter Cultural Partnership is recruiting a new Steering Group

Exeter Cultural Partnership (ECP) is entering a new and exciting phase. It recently secured funding to oversee the delivery of the first distinctive place-based Cultural Strategy in Exeter which will be the priority of the new Steering Group. The funders are Arts Council England, Exeter City Council, University of Exeter, Exeter College and Exeter Business Improvement District.

The strategic objectives of ECP are to build the quality of arts and cultural opportunities in Exeter, strengthen the cultural sector, grow the creative industries and promote the city’s arts and culture offer.

Following a Governance Review and with the new Director Lara Goodband and Chair of ECP Nikki Sved in place, we are now looking to recruit up to 8 Steering Group members who have a range of skills including PR and Communications, place-based Strategy Development, Legal, IT and Digital, Finance, Business and Investment as well as Collaborative Leadership. Individual members will have expertise in and provide insight into areas such as visitor economy, heritage, creative industries, health and wellbeing, and young people. We will also be looking for knowledge of or interest in a range of art forms including heritage and museums, performing arts, visual arts and literature to be represented by members of the Steering Group. We would expect Steering Group members to live or work in the Exeter area.

The Steering Group meets on a quarterly basis and may establish sub groups for further meetings to discuss specific items. The time commitment is likely to be up to one day a month. Further details are available from Belinda Dillon, ECP Officer at b.dillon@exeter.ac.uk. For an informal conversation or meeting about the role contact Lara Goodband, Exeter Cultural Partnership Director l.m.l.goodband@exeter.ac.uk to arrange a suitable time.

For more details, visit the ECP website. For details of the person specification and articles of reference, email b.dillon@exeter.ac.uk.

Please apply by letter or email on no more of one side of A4 answering the following questions:

  • Why would you like to become a member of the Steering Group?
  • How can you support the commissioning and implementation of a new Cultural Strategy for Exeter?
  • What skills can you bring to Exeter Cultural Partnership?

Please attach a short biography or CV and note your main Exeter work place or home address.

Addressed to: Belinda Dillon, Innovation Centre, Rennes Drive, Exeter, Devon EX4 4RN

Deadline for applications: Tuesday 20 March 2018, 12noon. Informal meetings with selected applicants will take place in the week beginning 26 March.
