Support continues to grow for Exeter City Council's expression of interest to the 'Great Place Scheme'. The Scheme is co-sponsored by Arts Council England, Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic England and will award 12 locations in England with additional support and additional investment to help 'embed arts, culture and heritage in local plans and decision-making'. The Leaders of both East Devon District Council and Mid Devon District Council have added their support, as has the Vice Chancellor of the University of Exeter, Professor Sir Steve Smith. They join over 40 other leaders of business, culture, learning, local government and tourism. We know that the competition for the Great Place Scheme will be strong - the co-funders of the Scheme have said that the idea has ignited interest from across the country - but ECP will be supporting Exeter City Council in making the best case possible.
