Engaging, empowering, energising culture in Exeter

Art Week Exeter are pleased to announce the dates for next year's event...
Please find out more on the website: https://artweekexeter.org.uk/ to register as an artist, producer or venue owner.

First up, will be our live-action crowdfunder for artists to raise cash and kickstart their projects for next year.

Art SOUP, 18 October 2017, 6pm, St Sidwell’s Centre, Exeter. Up to eight artists (or groups of artists) each have five minutes to pitch their idea to the audience. The audience pays £5 each for a bowl of soup and a chance to vote. They listen to the pitches, think and chat about it over supper, then cast their vote anonymously for their favourite idea. The project with the most votes wins the soup money. We will also be match-funding this, so the pot should be around £500.

Please check our website homepage or click here for more info about pitching at the event and book your tickets here for ringside action!

Last year was great fun, with two of the pitching artists going on to make their pitched projects for Art Week (Sophia Clist's Stretch in Exeter Cathedral and Morth's Hope & Renewal in Cathedral Yard), one artist making a new body of work (Rebecca Harris' Storm in a B Cup at EVA Studios) and one managing a whole squad of street artists! (Cleo Heard - Exe Bridges Subways Graffiti Galleries).

This offers a great opportunity to fund your work and provides proof of support for your idea when making larger bids for funds. It's also a really valuable social networking event, with gorgeous soup too!

Thanks for the info. Clicked on to https://artweekexeter.org.uk/ and see that the styling is in yellow & white this year. Hope you have other ideas for posters and direction arrows. Yellow on white in unlikely to be visible from across the street. Just like the light blue on white that was used last year. Nice on a screen, not so good out in the real world where it needs to catch attention. Cheers . Lynn

Don't worry Lynn - it goes GREAT with black!

Good :-)

I saw that when I printed off the soup poster for the workshop. And suspect that you might have that in mind. But I thought it was worth speaking up early rather than grumbling after it's too late.

Cheers

That will be nicely waspishly eye catching ;-)
