The start of a portrait of Exeter

Making unusual maps of different areas of Exeter, first map is in the shape of a monkey and includes the area of Wonford, St. Leonard’s and St Lloyds. The making of the maps will be a collaborative process getting a lot of people of all ages involved. This is the start of the project that will become multi layered and involve many techniques to create a portrait of a place.

For 89 South Street the maps will be wall hung, visitors asked to put dots on their favorite place, ugliest, most like to change spot. There will be postcards for visitors to write/draw on and add to map. Only pencils will be used in the space and if possible I would prefer to use drawing pins to fix the maps to the wall. I would like to display information about the map project and how it ties in to Namibia and the Rugby World Cup in September. I have insurance through my AN subscription and an up to date DBS certificate to work with children.
