Engaging, empowering, energising culture in Exeter

Exeter Music and Sound Forum - 3rd meeting on Wed 13th Sep

Hi all

Just to remind you that our next meeting is this Wednesday 13th September at 7.30pm in The Workshop, Exeter Phoenix. Our guest speaker will be John Hartley, Director of Arts and Culture at Exeter University. I (Emma) will chair and I think Tom will take notes.

We'll start at 7.30 for chat and networking and then John will speak at 8pm.

Book your place here so we have an idea of numbers https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/3rd-exeter-music-and-sound-forum-tic....

Please circulate this info to anyone who might not know about the forum, yet.

It might be worth reiterating the aims of setting up the Forum: This Forum was inspired by an Artist Development Day held by Exeter Visual Arts Forum. The day offered professional development and introduction to Exeter Cultural Partnership’s Culture Director Martin Thomas. Much of the content would have been equally helpful and relevant to people working in music and sound art. Music and sound art doesn’t have a voice in the Exeter Cultural Partnership. The hope for this Forum for Musicians and Sound Artists is that we can learn from and support each other more, have a way of communicating both to and from the wider cultural sector and a voice. And that we can achieve things together that we can’t as individuals.

Aims for the forum:
  • Opportunity to discuss issues around music and sound art in the city
  • Provide networking opportunities
  • Provide a voice for music and sound art in Exeter.

Best wishes

Emma

Thanks Emma, I'll be there.

can we add things for the Agenda please?

I'd like to speak briefly about a project that we're developing that will hopefully capture the essence of music and sound in the city.

Yes, of course. Thanks, Stuart.
